    La Boheme - Puccini - Opera Australia  | 14/10/08  - 29/10/08

  1. Sydney NSW
  2. Winter in Paris. It is bitterly cold, and poetry is not going to pay the rent. But when a poor seamstress, Mimì, stumbles into the poet Rodolfo's humble garret, something ignites. Puccini's La bohème is one of the most unashamedly, overwhelmingly romantic operas ever written. The endearing, true-to-life characters, the achingly beautiful melodies and delicately painted orchestration come together to create a tide of emotion that sweeps audiences away. After a sell-out Summer season, Opera Australia revisits the production which brings Bohemian Paris to the Sydney Opera House, in all its grit and glory. Ollivier-Philippe Cunéo conducts an exciting young ensemble which includes Carlo Barricelli as Rodolfo, Antoinette Halloran as Mimì, José Carbó as Marcello and Amelia Farrugia as the showstopping Musetta.
